How we work

Process, process, process.

Both transparency and a good process are hugely important in building successful partnerships. Here, I have broken down my client and design process so you have clarity of what goes on and when it happens.

Client process

01

Kick off call

Before signing any dotted lines and paying any desposits, we hop on a quick 10-15 minutes call to outline the full scope of the project, deliverables, timeframes, budgets, etc. Typically, these are all verbally agreed upon on this call and we'll schedule a time for a follow up zoom meeting proposal.

02

Services & options

I'll send over a zoom meeting invite and present the different design services recommended for your project. By the end of the zoom meeting, you will have the full picture of what design services we offer, our design process and the different proposal pricing to help you make an informed decision.

03

Introduction & kick off

After the paperwork & payment are processed, an introduction email will be send out to introduce our assigned project designer and the project coordinator who will be your main point of contact. We will list out items and information needed from you to help us get started on the design, common items are land survey, as-built drawings, your pinterest board and/or any reference materials or wish list items you'd like us to implement in the design.

04

Signed & sealed

If the proposals are acceptable, I'll send over a project proposal via DocuSign that details the deliverables and the quote we agreed upon for you to sign off. Once approved and signed, we'll send over deposit invoice. We can only progress once these have been signed and paid.

05

Presentation

It's now probably been one to two weeks since I received all I needed from you and I'm ready to present our proposed design solutions. In this presentation, we will walk you through the design explaining the rational behind each decision to ultimately get to that final design at the end. We will take notes during our zoom meeting call and send you the presentation deck with our notes so you can refer back to it when pulling together feedback.

06

Revise & Repeat

After obtaining your feedback, we will get back to the drawing board to implement your feedback into the revised design. Depending on the level of amends required, we may send them over on email or schedule another zoom meeting presentation if it requires more work and explanation. We will repeat this process per our agreed revision scope and continue to fine tune the design.

07

Sign off & next step

After you've signed off the design, depending on the scope of work, we'll begin to prepare either permitting drawings to prepare for plan check submittal or construction documents drawings and specifications for the interior design

Schematic Design

Stylistic Survey : Depending on how intricate the project is, we might share our proposed material moodboard with you through email or set up a stylistic preference meeting. This way, we can really grasp your design tastes and preferences, gathering inspiration to tailor the most appropriate design solutions for your project.

Schematic Design : We're all about visuals! To kick off our design journey, we love whipping up realistic detailed 3D images or virtual walk-throughs. These imagery will help visualize our proposed materials, lighting, and layouts for your space. We're big believers in humanistic design approach, so expect us to dig into your lifestyle and preferences. It's all about making sure our designs match up perfectly with what you're after.

Construction Phase Consult & Support

Construction Documents : Once the proposed schematic design is given the green light, we'll dive into crafting comprehensive construction documents. These will include everything from material call-outs and precise dimensions to detailed material specifications, along with a breakdown of quantities needed. This means you or your builder will have a handy construction manual to consult during the building phase. You'll know exactly where to find the materials and how much to get, making the whole purchasing process a breeze!

Construction Phase Consult & Support: Once construction kicks off, we're here to offer remote design support every step of the way. Whether it's liaising with vendors to snag trade discounts or popping by for site visits at key milestones, we're all about making sure the build-out stays true to the design vision. And if any unexpected surprises come up, don't worry—we'll be right there to keep everyone in the loop and provide the guidance needed to avoid costly delays.
